Planning a wedding from afar can be a daunting task. Especially if you have never been to the location you have dreamt of spending the most important day of your life. Kimberly and Miguel knew they wanted to marry in Hawaii but being from California, barefoot on the beach is not what they had in mind. Then one day, Kimberly was having a cocktail at her local watering hole when she met bartender, Shark (yes, that is his real name and probably one of the nicest people I have ever met). He had just returned from having his own wedding to the beautiful Desiree, at the stunning Waianapanapa State Park in Hāna. He showed her his photos that Kaua also captured, after seeing them, her mind was set.
With some of the most unbelievable views of East Maui, dynamic coastlines with lava rock cliffs, black sand beaches and lush green jungle spilling in, it’s not hard to see why they too, would want to marry here. So with their closest family in tow, they made the three hour trek from the west side where they were staying to say I do along the bluff of the magical oceanfront setting. With waves crashing against the cliffs, officiant and musician, Christopher Helekahi serenaded the couple in their first dance as husband and wife. Miguel couldn’t wipe the smile off his face as he soaked up the love he received from his beautiful bride. Kimberly was just as ecstatic as her ideal wedding day was realized to the man of her dreams.
