This Maui wedding is not only stunningly beautiful, but depicts a sweet-hearted romantic charm as well. Katrina and Travis were wed at the Olowalu Plantation House on the south shores of the island, with friends and family present. A wonderful celebration under the tropical sun, beginning at the site of the ceremony to the famous and breathtaking Banyan Tree in the heart of Lahaina, and ending with the Old Lahaina Lu’au, a traditional hula and feast. These love birds indulged in another day in paradise, making their way up to Maui’s well loved north shore. On a secluded white sand beach, just below the famous Mama’s Fish House, the couple found themselves exploring the rocks and reef that lead right into the ocean. A beautiful sight, and one that makes for an incredible experience of the island. One last stop on this couple’s journey; down a dirt road to the ruins of Old Maui High. The barely standing structure of aged halls still smell of the Plumerias growing wildly in the abandoned courtyards. Over the course of two days, this couple adventured to both south and north shores and various gems in between, all to leave with amazing memories that will last forever.

From the Bride:
“Travis and I have always dreamed of an intimate destination wedding with beautiful skies, beach, sand, and the rustling of the ocean waves in the background. We chose Maui for the many reasons: no passports, safe traveling for families to leave the resort (jump in the car and go), and the beautiful beaches. Travis and I fell in love with Olowalu immediately. The cozy, quaint plantation house nestled by the private beach. Nothing says destination wedding with a little privacy from all the tourism surrounding you. We settled on this estate to have a little slice of heaven for a few hours all to ourselves. (When choosing a photographer) there was something that intrigued Travis and I about Kaua’s photography. The fact that through every customer’s pictures that we previewed, he seemed to capture the ultimate essence of “those moments” that were amazing photos in themselves. There were no “ok” photos. They were all “great” photos. Art, storytelling, and poetry in itself. Memories captured and cherished forever. (When thinking about the highlights of the wedding) Travis and I had to relive them through the video and photography we had seen. The day just flew by. I would say the best moments of our wedding were seeing each other for the first time that day as I walked down the aisle. Pastor Laki entertaining our wedding guests. He truly is amazing at what he does. The exchanging of vows was emotional for both of us. Taking pictures at the banyan tree and on the beach. Last but not least being able to experience true culture at its best at the luau. Wow! The best advice for planning a destination right now, I would say definitely hire a wedding coordinator. It is worth everything to have someone on that day take care of you instead of you trying to take care of everything. Breathe. Enjoy the day, and do not let the little moments or imperfections that happen that day ruin it, for you will never relive that day again. Forget about if the flowers were not what you wanted, or that the tags for your drinks didn’t come out exactly like you planned, and the wind is blowing like crazy. Embrace the most important thing, that when you walk down that aisle, nothing matters. It is about you and the person waiting for you, and that it is the best moment of your lives!”
