Gorgeous tropical weather, close family, best friends, superb dinner, handpicked coconuts and an amazing Luau to wrap up the evening… What else could a couple ask for on their wedding day? Kate and Jason’s wedding at the Olowalu Plantation House shows us what exciting fun it is to celebrate that special day, island style. Sipping on a freshly cut coconut while watching the sun set over the horizon sounds like a dream. To top it off with a full spread of an island inspired Luau, with fire dancers and all, makes this wedding undeniably unforgettable.

Q and A with the Bride:
Q. How and/or why did you decide on Maui, and your venue, for your wedding?
A. We decided on Maui because we love it there. There is no other place we are more relaxed. We didn’t want a huge wedding and decided it was all about us and if people wanted to attend they would have to come to Maui!We chose Olowalu Plantation b/c I am from Tennessee and it reminded me of a southern plantation and was on the beach.
Q. How and/or why did you decide on Kaua Wedding Photography for your wedding?
A. Our planner Lori sent us Kaua’s website along with a few others and I just loved the look of his pictures.
Q. What were some of the highlights of your wedding?
A. We had a luau that was fantastic! We had someone climbing and picking coconuts out of trees ad breaking them open for our guests to drink fresh coconut juice. We also had tons of whales jumping in the background during our ceremony. It was awesome! We got some great pictures of that too.
Q. What would be your advice to those who are planning their destination wedding right now?
A. Relax… Find great vendors and everything will come together. They do what they do for a living. Trust them.
