A young love was swept upon the shores of Maui’s south side this afternoon. With beloved friends and family gathered, to bestow their blessings, Shanna and Tyson were wed at the White Orchid Beach House in Makena. A romantic air embodies this couple, from the first walk together as newlyweds to a private getaway in heavenly Hana. From a white sanded beach on the south side to a lover’s rock in a volcanic cave on the eastern shore, this couple experienced just a taste of what Maui has to offer to those who seek an adventurous love.

Q. How and/or why did you decide on Maui, and your venue, for your wedding?
A. We had always wanted a small elegant wedding in Hawaii. Our main goal was to eliminate the stress of a big showy wedding at home. We spent a while researching other weddings/venues on all of the islands and watched you tube videos so we could get a feel on how exactly we wanted our wedding to be. Which lead us to White Orchid Weddings and their private beach house in Maui!
Q. How and/or why did you decide on Kaua Wedding Photography for your wedding?
A. Stacey at White Orchid Weddings gave me a list of potential photographers, so we got onto all of their websites, compared pictures, prices, and most importantly to us the rights to our photos. The way Kaua’s photos are on his website are perfectly our style and we got exactly what we were expecting and more!
Q. What were some of the highlights of your wedding?
A. Being able to relax and enjoy ourselves. White Orchid Wedding and Kaua made everything very easy and stress free so we could really take in and enjoy what they had put together and spend time with our guests.
Q. What would be your advice to those who are planning their destination wedding right now?
A. It is very nice to have a coordinator, if you have the ability to. Research where you would like your wedding, beaches and resorts are pretty public. Also when you are choosing your photographer look at the fine print and estimate how many hours you would like your photographer and if the rights to your photos are released to you, so you don’t have to pay a fee every time you want a single copy of your photo.
